BSA Scouting For Food 2014 ( 8:00 am )

2014 will mark the 27th year that the Boy Scouts of America and their families of the Heart of Virginia Council have participated in the Scouting for Food drive.  The need for donated food is vitally important to families that are struggling and the organizations that help support them.  This is Scouting’s opportunity to support our community in a clear and tangible way.

Cub Scout Pack 7474 and Boy Scout Troop 7400 of South Hill will be putting out Scouting for Food and Lions Club eyeglass donation bags on the morning of Saturday, October 25th.  The scouts will place the paper bags outside your FRONT DOOR.  Please fill the bags with nutritious, non-perishable food items and leave outside your FRONT DOOR by 8:00am, Saturday, November 1st.

Last year scouts from 7474 and 7400 picked up over 2400 pounds of donated food and delivered it to The Bread Box and Lakeland Ray of Hope food banks.  Please remember that ALL the donated food stays in Mecklenburg County! Thank you for supporting the BSA and our community.
