The Colonial Center would like to welcome the artwork of William Ward Moseley in their galleries.

South Hill, VA August 19, 2014: Now through September 25, artworks by Mr. William Ward Moseley will be on display in the Colonial Center's Galleries. Mr. Moseley has been an active painter since his retirement from the practice of architecture in 1990. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, he received a degree in building design, he has also studied oils with international artist Wolf Kahn, watercolors with Frank Web (AWS) and Eric Wiegardt (SP), and pastels with Ben Konis (PSA). 

Moseley has developed a unique style in watercolors, pastels, and oils, allowing great expressiveness and flexibility with the vibrant use of color. His subjects include landscape scene of Lake Gaston, North Carolina; his winter studio in Naples, Florida; Marco Island; and his alma mater: Virginia Tech, among others.

The Colonial Center galleries are open for public viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The galleries are also open to patrons during all Colonial Center performance events.

Mr. Moseley will be on site on Saturday, August 23 during intermission of that evening's performance of The Sound of Music. He will be answering questions about his displayed works and signing copies of his book, 'An Affair With Art'.

The Clarksville VFW will be holding a fish fry on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 5-7pm.  All the fried fish, cole slaw, baked beans and hush puppies you can eat.  There will also be coffee, tea and dessset.  Eat in or take out.  $7 per person-$3 under 10

Crewe Public Library Doll Exhibit ( 8:00 am )

 

 Florence Oliver of Crewe has on exhibit at the Crewe Public Library during the month of August, shelves full of dolls, in beautiful outfits crocheted by her talented and loving hands.

 Each doll is in ‘a one of a kind’ outfit and Mrs. Oliver’s sense of style and imagination has produced over 125 dolls most which she has given away as special gifts to brighten a child’s day or for adults who are sick or shut-in.

 Patience and love for her fellow man has made Mrs. Oliver a very special person with a talent for helping others with a hand-made gift.

Knitting/Gaming Groups - Boydton Library ( 8:00 am )

Mr. Moseley has been an active painter since his retirement from the practice of architecture in 1990. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, he received a degree in building design, he has also studied oils with international artist Wolf Kahn, watercolors with Frank Web (AWS) and Eric Wiegardt (SP), and pastels with Ben Konis (PSA). 

Moseley has developed a unique style in watercolors, pastels, and oils, allowing great expressiveness and flexibility with the vibrant use of color. His subjects include landscape scene of Lake Gaston, North Carolina; his winter studio in Naples, Florida; Marco Island; and his alma mater: Virginia Tech, among others.

The Colonial Center would like to welcome the artwork of William Ward Moseley in their galleries.

South Hill, VA August 19, 2014: Now through September 25, artworks by Mr. William Ward Moseley will be on display in the Colonial Center's Galleries. Mr. Moseley has been an active painter since his retirement from the practice of architecture in 1990. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, he received a degree in building design, he has also studied oils with international artist Wolf Kahn, watercolors with Frank Web (AWS) and Eric Wiegardt (SP), and pastels with Ben Konis (PSA). 

Moseley has developed a unique style in watercolors, pastels, and oils, allowing great expressiveness and flexibility with the vibrant use of color. His subjects include landscape scene of Lake Gaston, North Carolina; his winter studio in Naples, Florida; Marco Island; and his alma mater: Virginia Tech, among others.

The Colonial Center galleries are open for public viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The galleries are also open to patrons during all Colonial Center performance events.

Mr. Moseley will be on site on Saturday, August 23 during intermission of that evening's performance of The Sound of Music. He will be answering questions about his displayed works and signing copies of his book, 'An Affair With Art'.

Pastor Edward L. Harrington of the Greater Hayes Grove Baptist Church will be celebrating his pr-anniversary on Saturday, September 20 at 3 p.m. at the Greater Hayes Grove Baptist Church. Appearing on the the service will be New Beginnings, The Barnes Specials, Spiritual Disciples and Special Guest, The Gospel Harmoneers of Warrenton, NC. Pastor Edward and first Lady Sandra's 10th appreciation serivce will be held on Sunday, September 28 during 11:15 a.m. worship service. Rev. Leon Carter form Garysburg, NC will bring forth the message for this blessed occasiton. The Barnes Special #1 will render the music. Nickelodeon Worldwide Day Of Play ( 11:00 am )

Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play is an annual event designed to encourage children and their parents to turn off the TV and play, especially outdoors.  

Royalti Inc. is providing you with a place to play and tons of activities throughout the day!!  Moon boucne, obstacle course and so much more!! This event will be held at Southside Virginia Community College in Alberta, VA from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM. 

This event is FREE to the public.  Bring the whole family!!  

Each child who participates in this event will receive a certificate from Nickelodeon so I'm asking that you please register each child.

Knitting/Gaming Groups - Boydton Library ( 8:00 am )
